A general-purpose biophotonics packaging platform that combines lens array–based free-space collimation/focusing optics with integrated spectral filtering. The platform incorporates precision-aligned lens arrays to achieve efficient mode conversion between on-chip waveguides and fiber interfaces, enabling direct coupling to light sources, detectors, or spectrometers. Uniquely, the collimated section of the optical path is engineered to host interchangeable or application-specific excitation and emission filters, allowing spectral separation and background suppression within the packaging module.
